What are Over Runs and Under Runs?
Over Runs are an amount that is in excess of the quantity ordered. Under Runs are an amount that is less than the quantity ordered. The promotional products industry and client acceptable standard is +/-10%. For example, if you order 500 items you could receive 450 or 550 items. WOW! Promotions Group cannot guarantee the exact percentage of an over run or under run, but we will try to minimize such occurrences to the extent we can. In most instances the over run or under run does not exceed 5%. The exception to this standard is with large items, such as apparel or expensive items where we do guarantee no over runs. Your account will be billed or credited based on the final count.
How do Over Runs and Under Runs occur?
Over Runs or Under Runs occur because the quantity of an order of products is determined by weight and rejects. Since it is not possible to actually count the exact quantities during a mass production process, a weight formula is used during production, with final counting done at the end of the process. During the production process there will be rejects that are purged from production in real time. This process of purging during production can cause the equipment operator to over run or under run an order based on the estimated difference between what the counter reads vs what the operator estimates the purges to be. The end result being an over run or under run of your order.
